Maintenance and Preventive Upkeep

Our services include, among other things, inspection of moving parts, replacement of worn components, and functional testing to ensure your instruments remain fully operational and patient safety is maintained.

The EU has made circular economy and resource efficiency key objectives in its Green Deal strategy, which aims to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions while promoting resource recycling.

The healthcare sector has been identified within the EU as a significant source of environmental impact, and regulations—such as the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745)—guide the responsible management of medical devices throughout their entire lifecycle.

The EU’s goal is to extend the lifespan of medical devices, reduce the use of single-use products, and promote recycling and refurbishment.

Extended Lifespan: Maintenance and refurbishment reduce unnecessary equipment purchases and help conserve natural resources.

Less Waste: Instruments that are no longer in use can be recycled for the recovery of metals and other materials, reducing the amount of landfill waste.

Energy and Material Efficiency: Refurbishment and maintenance consume less energy than manufacturing and transporting new devices, thereby lowering the overall environmental impact.

Sustainable operations are not just an environmental matter: well-maintained instruments are safe, functional, and reliable, protecting both patients and healthcare staff.

Documented maintenance and traceability ensure that the entire lifecycle of medical devices is managed responsibly from start to finish.

Economic Savings: Fewer new instrument purchases and lower operating costs.

Environmental Responsibility: Hospitals and clinics can demonstrate active commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.

Compliance with EU Requirements: Refurbishment and maintenance support the achievement of environmental and quality objectives in line with relevant directives and regulations.
